It was an eventful offseason for the Monahan family. In November Shawn Monahan announced he was purchasing the Walker Motorsports Racing team, a Mooresville, N.C. based three-car Pro Late Model organization.

On Monday at New Smyrna Speedway 16-year old Brody Monahan made that purchase look like a brilliant plant.

Brody Monahan went to the lead early and then checked out on the field on the way to victory in the 60-lap Pro Late Model feature Monday at New Smyrna Speedway.

It was the second Pro Late Model victory at New Smyrna for Brody Monahan of Waterford. He won the 100-lap final event for the division at the 2025 New Smyrna World Series

“This is just so awesome, especially after the week we’ve had,” Brody Monahan said. “We’ve had so much speed and we didn’t have a lot to show for it up to this point. Just super thankful for everybody. Its just amazing. I’m super happy.”

Vito Cancilla was second and Conner Jones was third.

“I was just trying to save as much as I could in case we had a yellow there and I had to race for it,” Monahan said. “Lucky we didn’t. We were just pretty much on cruise control for the rest of that race ever since we got to the lead. [Crew chief Scott Anderson] does such a great job. The whole entire week this car is ridiculously fast.”
