Former NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour champion and current ARCA Series competitor Andy Seuss has long dreamed of competing in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series.
Next month he’ll get the chance to do it, and that opportunity will be a homecoming.
Seuss will make his Monster Energy Cup Series debut on July 21 in the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Seuss, who lives in Salisbury, N.C., grew up in Hampstead, N.H., just about 50 miles south of New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H.
Seuss will make the start for Rick Ware Racing, an organization that terms itself “The Biggest Little Team In Motorsports”.
“It’s a dream come true, a dream I had honestly gave up on,” Seuss told RaceDayCT Friday morning. “I can’t thank Rick enough for pursuing me to do this. To do it at my home track, where I’ll be surrounded by my family, friends, and everyone that has supported me for so long just makes it that much more amazing.”
Rick Ware has fielded cars for nine different drivers making 33 starts this year with the Monster Energy Cup Series.
Seuss won Whelen Southern Modified Tour championships in 2014 and 2015. The series was absorbed by the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour in 2017.
In 11 years competing on the Whelen Southern Modified Tour Seuss had 22 victories in 115 starts.
He has made 51 Whelen Modified Tour starts since 2006 with three top-five’s and 13 top-10’s. With the ARCA Series Seuss runs part-time for team owner Chris Our, a former Whelen Modified Tour team owner. Seuss has 12 ARCA starts since 2015 with one top-five and four top-10’s.
Move over Ryan Preece, the real hometown kid is entered. A good day for New England.
