After two nights off for the Tour Type Modified division at the World Series of Asphalt Stock car racing at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway, it was a familiar refrain Wednesday when the division returned to action.
Ron Silk continued his torrid pace at the World Series, driving away with victory in the John Blewett III Memorial 76 at the New Smyrna Speedway.
It was Silk’s third victory in four Tour Type Modified events this year at the World Series. If not a for a cut tire while leading Sunday’s race, Silk would likely have a perfect record at New Smyrna this year.
Ryan Preece of Berlin was second and Tommy Barrett Jr. of Millis, Mass. third.
According to The Chrome Horn, Silk started on the pole and briefly gave up the top spot to Barrett before going back to the lead for good on lap three.
