The polls are open.
Officials at Stafford Motor Speedway began collecting votes Friday to set the format for the inaugural SK 5K on July 4 at the facility.
Fans can vote on four questions at the Stafford Speedway website:
- Number of Laps (40, 50, 60, 76, 80 or 100)
- Qualifying Format (heats or heat and time trials)
- Tire Policy (no changes, two tires, four tires)
- Setting The Starting Lineup (traditional Stafford handicap, top-six invert, top-eight invert, top-10 invert or top-12 invert).
The top three choices for the laps will be place into a hat on race and one number will be drawn during the pre-race ceremonies to determine the length of the event.
The SK 5K will offer a purse of more than $27,000 with a $5,000 winner’s share.
76/heats/no tire change/invert top 12
Coming from a fan, not a competitor.
100/time trials/invert top 6/ 4 tires
76, no tires,no invert.
As a fan and not a driver. This is what I picked.
-100 Laps
-Time Trials and Heats
-Change 4 Tires
-Invert the top-12
100 laps
Time Trial & Heats
Change 2 Tires
Invert top 12
What I really would like is twin 50’s with a 10 minute
break in between, 20 Car invert for 2nd 50, combine both finishes to determine finishing positions.
