Ormsby is well known not only for his exploits in the 1960’s, ‘70’s and 80’s behind the wheel of a Modified, but also for pioneering local short track racing on the internet through his Speedway Line Report and Racing Remembrances websites.

The New Britain native began racing at Plainville Stadium in 1968, while still in high school. He was a regular at the track through its closing in 1980. Years later he retired to Florida, but remained deeply involved in the Connecticut short track racing scene through his involvement with the websites and the New England Antique Racers group.

Ormsby would love to hear from friends and fans in the local racing scene. Cards may be sent in care of his sister Danith Ormsby-Jacques at 395 South Easy Street in Lecanto, Fla., 34461.
