Former Sprint Cup Crew Chief Tony Eury Jr. Named General Manager Of LFR Chassis

LFR ChassisPrincipals from LFR Chassis Inc. announced Friday that former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series crew chief Tony Eury Jr. has been named general manager of the company, effective immediately.

LFR Chassis, which manufactures, Modified, Late Model and Super Late Model cars, was started in January by NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour driver and former Sprint Cup Series crew member Rob Fuller, along with longtime fabricator Steve Leavitt.

Eury Jr. is the cousin and former crew chief for current Sprint Cup Series driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. He has more than 20 years of experience, in all facets of NASCAR team operations at the uppermost levels of stock car racing.

“To have someone with his experience and knowledge come on board and help us develop and manufacture top-level chassis and components is huge,” Fuller said in a release. “No other manufacturer can offer someone with those credentials.”

Said Eury: “I’m excited to reunite with Rob and work together on this new venture. We’re both racers at heart and take pride in running well and creating quality products.”

Fuller and Eury first worked together previously as part of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Dale Earnhardt Inc. NASCAR Nationwide Series team in 1997. They were reunited in 2005 at DEI as crew members for driver then driver Michael Waltrip.

“Tony is one of my closest friends and to have someone I have that relationship with looking over the business daily is priceless,” Fuller said. “We have won a lot of races and championships together and I believe the best is yet to come. We are both rooted in short track racing and it’s great to be able to offer quality products from LFR Chassis to short track racers across the country.”

Fuller also announced Friday that former Sprint Cup Series chassis builder Bob Yost has been hired by LFR Chassis.

“We are assembling a team here that will be second to none in manufacturing and track support in the industry,” Fuller said. “In business everyone knows it’s all about the people and we will have a group that is head and shoulders above the rest.”
