Stafford Notes: Bill McNeil, Duane Provost And Jeremy Sorel Grab Victories

SMS-LOGO-HOME-PAGE-2012STAFFORD – Bill McNeil carried the momentum of a Street Stock victory last week at the Waterford Speedbowl to the Stafford Motor Speedway half-mile Friday.

McNeil, of Preston, won the 15-lap DARE Stock feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

It was the first victory of the season at Stafford for McNeil.

“My crew chief Joe Brockett sure made me earn it tonight,” McNeil said. “It was just a little bit loose. We had an awesome run at Waterford, we won Waterford Saturday with the same car.”

Andrew Marchese of Tolland was second and Brandon Michael of Granville, Mass. third.

Duane Provost of Springfield took the checkered in the 25-lap Limited Late Model feature.

Andrew Hayes of Charlton, Mass. was second and Norm Sears of Andover third.

“It was crazy,” Provost said. “It’s really hard getting into turn one. You can barely even see going in there and you’re not even sure what’s going on. I’m just happy I missed whatever was going on in front of me. I almost didn’t even make it out here. During the heat race we broke a steering bolt.”

Jeremy Sorel of Westfield, Mass. of picked up his first career victory in the 25-lap SK Light Modified feature.

D.J. Burnham of East Hartford was second and Nicholas Salva of Prospect third.
