STAFFORD – Stafford Motor Speedway officials announced Friday that the purse for their inaugural NAPA Auto Parts SK 5K event on July 4 is growing.
It had already been announced that the feature event will have a purse of over $27,000, with a winner’s share of $5,000.
Stafford management announced that they will also pay out up to $2,000 in purse money for qualifying heat events that will set the field for the SK Modified feature that evening.
“The drivers and fans wanted a big event and I think we are delivering,” Stafford general manager Mark Arute said in a release. “We want our SK teams to know that we appreciate the show they put on each week. We know it’s one of the best divisions in the country and we want to reward them for that.”
Each heat race will pay $250 to the winner, $150 to second place and $100 for third place.
Twenty-six cars will qualify for the NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k event.
