Stafford Speedway Champions For Charities Programs Raises More Than $32,000 This Year

SMS-LOGO-HOME-PAGE-2012Stafford Motor Speedway officials announced Monday that their fourth Champions for Charities campaign raised more than $32,000 this year for an assortment of charities.

Stafford Speedway hosted its Champions for Charities All-Star Karting exhibition event on June 27. Ron Midford Jr. of Ellington won the event.

Over four years, the Champions for Charities events have raised over $177,000 for various charities.

Each year, numerous well known drivers have helped to raise money for the event, leading up to the special race, which drivers compete in using Senior Outlaw karts which normally compete at the track’s Monday night Wild Thing Karts shows.

“Wade and Sandi Gagner [of the Wild Thing Karts program] have been very instrumental in bringing the Champions for Charities Event to fruition.” Stafford Speedway executive vice president Lisa Arute said in a release. “When Stafford Management presented the concept to them, in the winter of 2011, they embraced it. Without their hard work and dedication to the Monday Night Wild Thing Kart Series at Stafford the event would not be possible. We look forward to continuing the event and want to thank the Kart Owners that have participated throughout the 4-years.”

Drivers participating in 2014 were Midford, David Arute, Rich Pallai, Jr, Ryan Preece, Ted Christopher, Woody Pitkat, Randy Cabral, Doug Coby, Eric Berndt and Keith Rocco.
