Bobby Santos III Leads Whelen Mod Tour NAPA Auto Parts 150 Practice At Stafford

STAFFORD – Bobby Santos III led the way in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice Saturday at Stafford Motor Speedway in preparation for Sunday’s NAPA Auto Parts 150.

Santos toured the half-mile oval at Stafford Speedway with a fast lap of 18.441 seconds (97.609 mph).

Santos, of Franklin, Mass., is fourth in the Whelen Modified Tour standings and has three wins this season, including a victory in the Whelen Modified Tour’s visit to Stafford for the Spring Sizzler on April 27.

Woody Pitkat of Stafford, coming off a victory in the F.W. Webb 100 last Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, was second in practice with a fast lap of 18.449 seconds (97.566 mph). Pitkat won in the division’s most recent visit to Stafford on Aug. 8.

Donny Lia of Jericho, N.Y., was third fastest in practice at 18.473 seconds (97.440 mph).

Ted Christopher of Plainville, currently third in the standings, was fourth fastest (18.480 seconds, 97.403 mph). Series points leader Doug Coby of Milford was fifth fastest (18.486 seconds, 97.371 mph) of 22 cars taking time.
