WATERFORD – Faced with a possibility of foreclosure auction looming on Oct. 18, uncertainty hangs over the Waterford Speedbowl.
But one thing that is certain is that southern New England racing fans will be treated to a day full of action today at the 64-year old shoreline oval.
With the washout of Saturday action for Finale Weekend, the track will put on a racing card today that includes 13 feature events, anchored by a 100-lap feature for the Valenti Modified Racing Series.
In addition to the Valenti Modified Racing Series, Sunday’s racing card will also include a 50-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature, a 50-lap Late Model feature, a 30-lap Street Stock feature, a 30-lap Mini Stock feature, a 25-lap Northeastern Midget Association feature, a 25-lap SK Light Modified feature, a 25-lap Legends feature, a 20-lap X-Car feature, a 20-lap Super X-Car feature, a 25-lap Outlaw Stock, a 25-lap Northeastern Midget Association Lite feature and a 20-lap Bandolero feature.
The racing card also includes three qualifying events for the Valenti Modified Racing Series. Racing begins at noon and hopefully ends before Monday morning.
With any luck the Speedbowl will open again next year(without Terry Eames).
