Despite a published report to the contrary, the Valenti Modified Racing Series will indeed be competing at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Fair Haven, Vt. and Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y. in 2015.
Valenti Modified Racing Series officials announced a tentative schedule on Dec. 6 that included an event at Airborne Speedway on May 30 and an event at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on July 24.
Racing event promoter and Area Auto Racing News reporter Kevin Rice recently reported that neither event would take place.
On Friday Mike Bruno, owner of Devil’s Bowl Speedway and general manager and part-owner of Airborne Speedway, said both events will take place, though he did say track and series officials had not finalized agreements for the events to take place before the Modified Racing Series announced them as part of their schedule.
“As of today both are happening,” Bruno said. “… The deal had to be right for us to make it feasible for us to have a race at each track. You have to make it beneficial to both parties and originally we didn’t know if it was going to be and didn’t think it was. We worked out a few thing with sponsors and different things to be able to make it work.”
The tentative announced schedule released by the Valenti Modified Racing Series listed 14 events, with the expectation of adding three more possible events at the Waterford Speedbowl should foreclosure issues be cleared at the facility.
