Eric Goodale proved the slayer of the New Smyrna beast Wednesday night.

The Riverhead, N.Y. driver conquered the most dominating force thus far at the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing Wednesday when he passed Ryan Preece late to win the Tour Type Modified John Blewett III Memorial 76 at New Smyrna, Fla. Speedway.

Preece, of Berlin, looked to have the absolute dominant car like in every other Modified feature of the 2015 World Series, but with two laps remaining Goodale made the most of a bobble by Preece.

Goodale went by Preece and to the checkered flag.

Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville, N.Y. was second.

Preece ended up third in the fourth Tour Modified event of the series of the World Series at New Smyrna.

Preece won on opening night but was later disqualified for being too light, giving the victory to Bonsignore.

Preece won the second and third events before Wednesday’s feature.
