(Press Release from OTB Promotions)

Northeast Street Stock Tour LogoOTB Promotions and the North East Street Stock Tour have joined forces for the inaugural season of the North East Street Stock Tour (NESST).

NESST is a new touring series that will feature General Motors V8 powered stock cars. To date, NESST has confirmed participation from several championship teams that are ready to travel to six of New England’s premier race tracks. Further supporting the new series and adding a local flair to the 11-race tour will be local track Street Stock drivers vying to win their local track’s NESST event. The Street Stock division is a fan favorite with a strong following making the Street Stocks one of the most recognizable divisions in the northeast.

Outside The Box Promotions President Lou Gingerella, Executive Vice President Josh Vanada, and NESST founder Scott Fanning completed the agreement Wednesday, March 25, effective immediately. OTB Promotions, the upstart racing promotions company, has assumed all managerial responsibilities of the Tour including rules, procedures, race directing, and point systems. Fanning has been appointed Director of Technical Inspection and will be a key liaison with the Tour drivers.

In making the announcement, Scott Fanning commented on the benefits of joining forces with OTB. “NESST was formed to give the Street Stock cars a touring series the drivers will be proud to be a part of,” Fanning said. “The partnership with OTB will go a long way to making this tour a top-notch series”

Bryon Callen, a 15 year veteran in the industry, most recently serving as Race Director for the Granite State Pro Stock Series, will take on the Race Director responsibilities for the start-up tour. Callen also serves as Chief Starter at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (CT) and Lee USA Speedway (NH). Shawn Sicard will be the voice of the NESST, as well as handle media responsibilities. Sicard is the voice of the Granite State Pro Stock Series, and serves as the Director of Communications for OTB Promotions.

“Starting a new company and taking on a new touring series will make for a challenging year,” commented OTB President Louis Gingerella. “But, we have an experienced, well respected team at OTB; I’m certain we will be up to the task and deliver a great race series to New England race fans.”

Racing with the Tri-Track Modified Series, the North East Street Stock Tour opens the 2015 season with an exhibition race at Lee USA Speedway, May 17th. The first points event in the championship series takes place at Seekonk Speedway (MA), on May 30th. Later in the year, NESST will join the North East Mini Stock Tour, Mr. Rooter New England Truck Series, and Thompson-legal Mini Stocks as part of OTB Promotion’s Stock Car Road Race Challenge. That race will be held on the newly re-opened 1.7-mile, 11 turn road course at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP). The Tour finale will be held on the Thompson oval at the World Series. Other tour stops are Speedway 51 (NH), Monadnock Speedway (NH), Speedway 95 (ME), and the New London/Waterford Speedbowl (CT), which is under new management for the 2015 season.
