  1. This promotion is really a good deal but they don’t really advertise it very well. Not even a sign where u buy the tix. Not sure if the tix persons lets you know

  2. I think its been well advertised but to put up a sign at the ticket booth to say “hey stupid want a $5 ticket”, why? Its a promotion to get people to the track, they are not making money at $5 a head so to tell people at the gate makes no financial sense.

  3. Not everybody is addicted to facebook and to find the promotion you have to click on a link on the Speedbowl website. I would think it should be “in your face” when you go to the website and not hidden behind the homepage. Just saying…..

  4. Advertised or mentioned on social media racing sites means the people who already go to the track know about these promotions. But for a non race fan hearing an ad, especially ones boasting the lowest price in town, on your local radio station on their way to work might entice them to load the car and fill those empty seats. Every extra butt in the seats costs the track zero but almost guarantees the sale of a box of popcorn, soda, or beer. Easily more profitable than the seat by the end of the night. I went to stafford for the BFF night and was offered the free tickets from people who didn’t know about the promotion, so I would say the tracks need to step it up and work harder to sell their product.

It is in fact directly on the main page of the website… Go to http://www.speedbowl.com and look just under the big Speedbowl logo in the middle of the screen… It says “Click here to check out this week’s events. Get in for only $5”

Also, Bob… I have heard this advertised many times on the radio over the past couple weeks. While it is true the Speedbowl promotional staff is a little too focused on the Social Media aspect of things on the surface, the truth is they are doing other things as well.

  6. Dingus, the problem with the link to the upcoming events is the formatting of website. On some computers including mine the “click here” linkdoes not show up unless you scroll down to see it. The same goes with the page the “click here” link goes to. If you don’t scroll down you would never see that there is an event scheduled for Sunday, May 24th. IMO the upcoming event or two should be seen on the homepage without having to scroll down to find the click here.

  7. Thanks for the update Dingus. Guess most of us listen to the wrong radio station. But seriously, it is our opinion, and we are entitled to one also, that the butt in the seat is worth more than the extra 4 or 8 bucks at the gate. Promotions this inexpensive are cool and all, but I believe 10 bucks for a regular show and 20 bucks for a family of four or more every week would be more than respectable.
