Whelen Modified Tour Hoosier Tire 200 At Riverhead Postponed To Sunday

Whelen Modified Tour 30th Anniversary LogoA day trip to “The Island” turned into an overnight stay for the competitors of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour on Saturday.

With rain falling, NASCAR officials were forced to postpone Saturday’s Whelen Modified Tour Hoosier Tire 200 at Riverhead Raceway.

The race will be run Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at Riverhead.

Earlier in the afternoon at Riverhead, Tom Rogers Jr. of Patchogue, N.Y. won his first career series pole. Though Rogers will have to fall to the rear of the field at the start of the event for making an unapproved adjustment after time trials.

Timmy Solomito of Islip, N.Y. will start second and Vince Biondolillo of Farmingville, N.Y. third.

Gee, if only Keith knew that was gonna happen.

  2. @ Chris D.- I know, right? But they only ran half (15 laps) at The Bowl before the rain stopped it.
Keith can’t predict nor dodge raindrops like he can cars on a track! lol

  3. Was there a reason why Keith’s car hauler was at the bowl? Just in case somehow he could make it back?

  4. Maybe he was going to hitch a ride with Ted ? Pretty sure Ted flies to the head

No ted doesn’t fly to the head the only time he does is New Hampshire but now the format is changed I don’t think he is doing that either anymore, mr Rocco brought it to the bowl just in case he said Keith was trying but wasn’t sure if he was making it plus it definitely stirred up the people a little bit seeing that hauler come in to the pits. On a side note congrats to Craig lutz and john Montesano on great runs last night

  6. Chris D. says

Still raining in central CT @ 1pm, any word on Riverhead?

  7. Wonder if that was Montesano’s best finish ever?

  8. Youhavenoidea says

It was his best at Waterford yes and first win in a heat race he is honestly one of the nicest guys in the field with amazing equipment and for doing it part time because he is a family guy and would go to a little league game or Nicky game for his kids and put his racing aside it was well deserved and I bet you will see more of him around the top 5
