On July 10 Michael Bennett was worried he wouldn’t make it out onto the track for Late Model feature at Stafford Motor Speedway.
What had him worried about getting on track was the impending arrival of his daughter.
Baby held off and Bennett not only made it on track but went on to win the 30-lap feature last Friday at Stafford.
New daughter Tenley arrived the next day and Friday Bennett celebrated her arrival with her first victory.
Bennett won the 30-lap Late Model feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.
It was the fifth victory in 13 events this year at Stafford for Bennett, of Stafford. \
“It was a hard place to start, back in eighth, I was a little bit nervous there,” Bennett said. “Things worked out in our favor. I had a crazy long week, last Saturday my daughter was born. … My wife is home with her watching us on Periscope. I wish they were both here, but we got one for her.”
Tom Fearn of East Longmeadow, Mass. was second and Ed Ricard of Stafford third.
