Officials from Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Fair Haven, Vt. announced Thursday evening that Friday’s Valenti Modified Racing Series event scheduled at the track has been postponed because of the pending forecast for rain.
“With showers and possible thunderstorms expected until at least 6:00 p.m., management from Devil’s Bowl Speedway and the Valenti Modified Racing Series have agreed to postpone the inaugural Newport Chevrolet-Buick-GMC 100,” read a release from Devil’s Bowl Speedway.”
“There are a lot race teams and fans that were planning to travel from several hours away to come to Devil’s Bowl for the first time, and we want to give them the best experience possible,” Devil’s Bowl promoter Mike Bruno said.
“It would be a tall order to get the race track dry, give the race teams ample practice time, and get the racing underway much before 9:00 p.m., which would not be fair to anyone.”
A makeup date for the Valenti Modified Racing Series is expected to be announced at a later date.
