Al Stone III Wins New England Racing Fuel Support Performer Of The Week Award

On the final regular Saturday night of the season, Al Stone III put the exclamation point on a dominant season of competition at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl in winning the Limited Sportsman championship at the track, a week after clinching the division’s championship for the 2015 season.

This week he continued the celebration of that dominant season by capturing victory in voting for the New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award.

Stone, of Durham, captures 103 of the 224 votes cast for 46 percent.

Bruce Thomas Jr., who returned to the Speedbowl last week and won the Late Model feature, was second in the voting with 69 votes (30.8 percent).

Each week during the 2015 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Stone will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel.
