L’Etoile finished second in the 15-lap DARE Stock feature Saturday at Stafford to clinch his second consecutive DARE Stock championship at Stafford Motor Speedway.
L’Etoile needed only to start the feature to clinch the title.
“You don’t even think about repeating,” L’Etoile said. “You just go out and do what you do every single race and the end results speaks for itself.”
Brandon Michael of Granville, Mass. won the feature Saturday. Rookie Marcello Rufrano of North Haven was third.
L’Etoile finished the second with three victories, 21 top-five’s and top-tens in all 22 events, which included a streak at one point of 17 consecutive top-five’s.
L’Etoile joined a list of drivers that have won consecutive titles at the track that includes names like Ted Christopher, Bob Potter and Geoff Bodine.
“That’s kind of unreal for me because I grew up in the stands,” L’Etoile said “… To even be considered on the list with those guys is just phenomenal and it’s all because of [my team]. They make my life very easy as a driver here. I can’t thank them enough. … They give me a consistent car every week and that’s the only thing more consistent than my driving.”
