For the second year in a row the celebration of the legendary status of John Blewett III in a Modified meant celebration of victory for Eric Goodale.

Goodale, of Riverhead, N.Y., held off Ryan Preece over the closing laps to win the John Blewett III Memorial 76 Tour Type Modified feature at the World Series of Asphalt Stock Racing at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway.

It was the second consecutive year that Blewett has won the John Blewett Memorial event at the New Smyrna World Series.

Preece, of Berlin, held on for second. Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville, N.Y. was third.

According to The Chrome Horn, Goodale passed Austin Pickens for the lead on a restart on lap 51 and never trailed again.

It was the second Tour Type Modified event of the World Series. Ron Silk of Norwalk won the first event of the week on Tuesday. Monday’s original opener was rained out.
