RH2Way Returns As Official Communications Provider For Professional Drag Racers Association In 2016

PDRA Logo DecalThe Professional Drag Racers Association has announced that Riverside, N.J. based RH2Way Communications will return in 2016 as the series’ exclusive provider of two-way communications equipment.

RH2Way has been the official radio provider for the Pittsboro, N.C. based racing series since its inception in 2014.

RH2 Way is owned by Gino DiFilippo Jr., a former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour crew member and longtime track communications service specialist and dealer for short track racing teams and facilities throughout the Northeast.

“We started racing with this series in 2014 and we contacted Gino then to help us and he has been really great for our organization and our racers,” PDRA Race Director Bob Harris said. “The reason I say that is that he parks in the staging lane and he’s always there for any guys that have an emergency. I’m not just talking about the people from the PDRA, I’m talking about the racers with all their radio stuff. Also he’s supplied the radios for the PDRA. Last year we were having a little bit of a problem with batteries lasting because sometimes we were having 15 and 16 hour days, and he even got us all new radios with stronger batteries. This year we’re going to go to another version with him that’s even better.

“He’s really really really just worked so great with us and with all of our racers. I know so many of our drivers are tickled to death with how well he works with them. The thing we like about Gino is that he’s hands-on. He’s not a suit and tie guy, not a corporate guy where you have to knock on four doors before you get something done. You call him up and the work gets done. That’s the reason we like him and the reason our racers like him too.”

Said DiFilippo: “With one-eighth mile drag racing things happen so quickly. We’re talking about cars going 660 feet in 4 seconds or less at more than 220 mph. It’s really important to have your communication gear working right.”

The 2016 PDRA series will feature nine events, with the season opening at Tulsa (OK) Raceway Park March 10-12. The series will also compete at Rockingham (N.C.) Dragway (April 7-9) Texas Motorplex (May 19-21), US 131 Motorsports Park in St. Martin, Mich. (June 9-11), Maryland International Raceway (July 14-16), Memphis International Raceway (Aug. 11-13), Galot Motorsports Park in Benson, N.C (Sept. 8-10), Bradenton (Fla.) Motorsports Park (Sept. 29 – Oct. 1) and Virginia Motorsports Park (Oct. 20-22).
