Ryan Preece bounced back from a tough opening race at Daytona International Speedway to finish 22nd in Saturday’s Heads Up 250 Xfinity Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Preece qualified a strong 21st in his first Xfinity race at the fast 1.5-mile track.

Driving the G&K Services/Kubota Tractors Chevrolet, Preece ran strong in the mid-pack all day.
“It felt good to get out there and race all afternoon after we had the tire problem early in the race at Daytona,” Preece said. “I think we can build on this.”

Sprint Cup invader Kyle Busch won the race easily. Kyle Larson was second. Elliott Sadler finished ninth Saturday and has the early-season point lead.

The series moves on to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for a March 5 race.
