FORT WORTH, Texas – Rookie Ryan Preece finished 28th Friday night in his first race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Preece qualified a solid 21st for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 Xfinity Series race and brought the G&K Services Chevrolet home 28th after recovering from a turn-two spin on the second lap.

“It’s a fast track and demands a lot out of a driver,” Preece said. “I was happy to get in a full race and get a lot of seat time. It gives us something to build on for the next race and for the next race here in Texas.”

Preece stayed in 17th in Xfinity Series driver standings.

Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch won the race, his 80th Xfinity victory. Daniel Suarez remained in the point lead.

The series moves on to Bristol, Tenn. April 16 for the first short-track race of the year.
