Friday night at Stafford Motor Speedway Woody Pitkat jumps back into the Late Model division for one week driving the car normally driven by Michael Bennett for the special Xtra Mart sponsored 50-lap event at the track.
Pitkat goes into the event with 39 career victories in the division, second all-time behind the 45 victories by Ryan Posocco.
It begs the question, who do you think was the best all-time as a regular in the Late Model division at Stafford Speedway? You tell us.

I’d say Ryan Posocco.
Are the Limited Sportsman drivers included in this class? If so that would open up the polling for the likes of Tommy Rosati, Mike Stefanik, Jerry Marquis, etc.
If not, I might be inclined to go with someone like Tony Sylvester or Phil Rondeau (who did it everywhere).

It’s funny how the track doesn’t even acknowledge his accomplishments. It’s like the street stock era didn’t even exist. Stafford’s late model records only count from 1987 to present (when the division name was changed from super stocks to late models) even though the actual class remained the basically the same thoughout the 80’s.

It’s impossible to compare drivers from different era’s
back in the day (Ward, Cote, Fiandaca, Knapp days) – the front runners had to pass 10 cars in the heat to qualify. then they would have to start deep in the field just ahead of the consi cars (if they weren’t one of them) to get to the front. They had to do it with cars that they raced 3 times a week and out race 35-40 cars a night.
what about leo “bim” adams ?? won lots of races ..won a bunch at Thompson too…??
