Mother Nature proved the big winner Saturday afternoon at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.
With heavy rains falling and a forecast calling for possible intermittent showers and thunder storms through the evening, New London-Waterford Speedbowl officials made the decision to cancel Saturday’s racing event.
The Town Night promotion that had been scheduled for Saturday, that offered free admission to anyone from towns or cities beginning with the letters A through M will now be held on Saturday July 16. The Town Night for the letters N through Z will be held as scheduled on June 18.
More details are expected to be announced soon on any makeups coming out of the event.
The Speedbowl will return to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action next Saturday.
