Highlight Moments From Unmuffled Episode 41

Longtime New London-Waterford Speedbowl SK Modified driver Rob Janovic Jr. shared an hopeful tone when talking about preparation for the 2019 season at the shoreline oval during an appearance this week on Unmuffled

“I’m thankful for this: We all left last year with an optimistic feeling going into this year. The people that are working on their cars this winter I think are doing so knowing that there’s going to be a place to race at where the past few years maybe you were a little apprehensive about putting money into that race car sitting the garage because you didn’t know where you were going to tow it to.

“So in that respect I think were already in better shape as far as the New London-Waterford Speedbowl is concerned. … I think it’s on a good course right now.”

Stafford Motor Speedway SK Light Modified driver Mikey Flynn also carries optimism from his late 2018 endeavors as he heads into his second season in the division at the track.

“I think it was a lot of learning experience [in 2018],” Flynn said. “In the beginning of the year it was tough, learning the car, learning how they run things up there, learning the competition. But once summer rolled around I think we were pretty set and I think our results showed that. Obviously we didn’t get a win, but I mean, we rallied off a couple second place finishes, lots of top-five’s. I think going into this season with the momentum is really going to help a lot.”

Adam Gray talked about his abrupt departure from Stafford Speedway in May 2015 after winning Late Model championships at the facility in 2013 and 2014. He said as of now his plans are to run part-time in a Late Model at Stafford in 2019, but things could change.

“Obviously if we start off strong it could potentially turn into something full-time,” Gray said. “But as of right now we’re just planning on going and having some fun. We kind of got some of the old crew together … and we’re going to make it to the first race.”
