THOMPSON – The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returned to Thompson Speedway for the second of four trips to the historic venue in 2019, but it was the same old story of late when the checkered flag flew on the Thompson 125.

For the sixth consecutive time at Thompson it was Justin Bonsignore celebrating in victory lane. Bonsignore extended his own record for consecutive Whelen Modified Tour victories at the .625-mile oval.

Thursday also marked the return locally of Monster Energy Cup Series driver and Berlin native Ryan Preece, who won the SK Modified feature for longtime team owners Al and Cathy Moniz. Preece also finished 14th in his Ed and Connie Partridge owned Whelen Modified Tour ride.

Chasing all the action all night was RaceDayCT photographer Fran Lawlor. Check out Fran’s gallery below from Thompson.
