LOUDON, N.H. – On Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Tyler Jarvenpaa got to make himself a permanent part of the historic record at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Jarvenapaa, of Orange, Mass., scored victory in the first Weekly Modified feature held at the 1.058-mile oval as part of the annual New England Short Track Showdown.
Jarvenpaa was one of the seven drivers to take part in the feature, which showcased SK Modified type rides for the 25-lap feature.
Jarvenpaa is a regular at Monadnock Raceway in Winchester, N.H.
Jarvenpaa took the lead from pole sitter Ben Byrne on lap three and dominated the rest of the way.
“The race really could not have gone any better,” Jarvenpaa said. “The whole field was clean and there were just two cautions for two small things. My car went really, really well. I want to thank my crew for hitting the setup right out of the box. The car was flawless.”
Alby Ovitt of Barrington, N.H. took the lead from Corey Hutchings of Salem with eight laps remaining and went on to win Sunday’s 25-lap Street Stock feature.
Connor McDougal was second and Hutchings third.
Matthew Kimball scored victory in the 25-lap North East Mini Stock Tour feature Sunday.
Wonder why there was not any sk’s? It’s a shame that only 7 cars were there.
