On Aug. 31 the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returns to Oswego (N.Y.) Speedway for the Toyota Mod Classic 150.

Aug. 31 would have marked the 80th birthday of legendary short track racing photographer Howie Hodge, who passed away in January 2017.

Before her passing earlier this year, Howie’s wife Mary expressed to Carol Haynes and Fran Lawlor that she wanted to honor Howie’s memory by offering a lap leader bonus on his birthday for the driver leading lap 80 at the Whelen Modified Tour event at Oswego.

Carol Haynes and Fran Lawlor have come together to create this Gofundme page to make Mary’s dream of a bonus in Howie’s memory a reality.
