Spark Virtual Reality Joins Stafford Speedway Contingency Program

(Press release from Stafford Speedway)

Speedway is proud to announce Spark Virtual Reality as the track’s newest contingency partner for the 2020 race season.  SparkVR will post a weekly $100 bonus for the runner-up in the ultra competitive SK Light Modified division.

Spark Virtual Reality is Connecticut’s home for virtual reality and offers the latest in virtual reality gaming and racing simulators.  Located at 425 Talcottville Road in Vernon, CT, SparkVR is home to 5 virtual reality gaming bays along with 5 custom built racing simulators.  Multiple bays allow for head to head gaming and racing with friends in the store.  Spark VR also offers a full bar and daily specials including happy hour Tuesday – Friday and Sunday, 5pm to 8pm.

“Our founders and partners have been racing fans since childhood and a couple of our partners have spent a lot of time at the track over the years so the partnership felt right,” explained Kyle Logan of SparkVR.  “Stafford Speedway is the home of the SK Modifieds® and SparkVR is home of the most advanced, realistic racing sim in the country.  We’re excited to team up and bring more interest to local racing.”

SparkVR joins Stafford’s contingency program for 2020 by posting a 2nd place weekly bonus of $100 in the highly competitive SK Light Modified division.  The 2020 season for the SK Light Modifieds is set to showcase new drivers along with multiple perennial contenders returning for a shot at the title.  2019 race winners Noah Korner, Alex Pearl, Wesley Prucker, and Mark Bakaj are all set to return to the field in 2020 while countless others return looking to get back to NAPA Victory Lane.  With 43 teams already registered for the upcoming season there will be plenty of action week to week.

One of the favorites entering 2020 is 2019 Rookie of the Year and championship runner-up Steven Chapman.  Chapman is a regular at SparkVR in Vernon turning laps at Stafford Speedway on one of the 5 sim racing setups the store offers.  Though Chapman and the #14 team have still yet to crack into NAPA Victory Lane, they will be one of the teams to watch in 2020.
