The Northeast Modified racing season was delayed in March, April and May because of restrictions due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, and it will close earlier than expected thanks to that same pandemic.
Because of restrictions put in place this week by New Jersey governor Phil Murphy, management at Wall Stadium announced today that the Turkey Derby events scheduled for Nov. 21, Nov. 27 and Nov. 28 have all been postponed to a date to be determined.
The 150-lap Tour Type Modified feature, which would have been the last Modified feature of 2020 in the Northeast, was scheduled for Nov. 28.
An announcement by the track offered two possible rescheduling plans that were listed as: โDepending on Gov. Murphy’s future COVID-19 restrictions.โย
The track expects to run all three days of the event Jan. 1-3 or March 13, 14 & 20 of next year.ย There were no details on how exactly the schedule would be restructured for either a January or March running of the event.
Check the Wall Stadium website for information on ticket transfers and ticket refunds.

And just remember, this is brought to you by the #TrumpPandemic. The #TrumpPandemic is not a hoax, it is a real disaster.
Sweden is in deep ๐ฉ, they have realized that herd Immunity does not work, and they are trying to get out of the crisis they put themselves in. It didn’t have to be this way.
Absolutely no surprise as pretty much the entire country lights up red and hospitals are maxing out to infinity and beyond in some places.
A good decision on every level.
The intense turkey with the mask. I know the goal is to make it obsolete but it is pretty cool.
Well, practice was fun last week…
It’ll be really interesting if January works out.
There has been no significant snow in over 2 years at the track. January is fine. Last year we showed up in the morning and it was 25 degrees. So who cares?
Brett, January in New Jersey. Track will be so cold, tons of grip, and that frigid air is great for horsepower. Dress like your going ice fishing and it’ll be fine.
If the government allows it, the fans and driver’s will come.
Wear your snowmobile suit and you will be plenty warm.
JD, what do you care? Stafford is your lady and itโs not a WMT race ๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น๐น
Silent protest today at the track
They’re selling food today also. Probably need to get rid of what they already purchased. I’ve heard that the money made at the turkey derby keeps the track afloat year to year. I hope this turn of events isn’t the death blow.
Earl, I don’t like wasting time and space on things that aren’t going to happen. More WMT talk, less dreaming.
๐JD๐ wasted time and space by posting, “Earl, I donโt like wasting time and space on things that arenโt going to happen. More WMT talk, less dreaming.”
Whoever the idiot is who said this cancelation is to be blamed on the Trump virus should be strapped to the track and run over.
Hey GD, this cancelation is due to the Trump virus ๐ฆ #TrumpPandemic coronavirus COVID-19.
Read the article. It’s right there.

Stay up to date with the crisis.
Iโm sorry but this was so disappointing. My father passed away on 10/30 and my sister and I went with him every year to the Turkey Derby. He loved Wall
Stadium and his favorite car was 55! Hoping this is scheduled for March!
