Who’s ready to roll with a little contest surrounding the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour 2022 season kickoff tonight at New Smyrna Speedway?
We’re going to host a Whelen Modified Tour New Smyrna Pick ‘Em contest for the event with winning entrant scoring a $15 gift card to Buffalo Wild Wings and a RaceDayCT t-shirt.
Nothing too crazy, here’s the rules:
– Each person entering will pick a five-driver lineup for Saturday’s Whelen Modified Tour event at New Smyrna Speedway. The entry list has been separated into five groups. Each person must enter one driver from each group to make up their team for the event.
– You must designate one of the five drivers you choose as your pick to win the race.
– Each driver on your team will be designated points for their finishing position. First place gets one point, second place gets two points and so on down.
– If your designated winning pick wins you’ll get three points subtracted from your final total.
– The entry with the lowest amount of points wins.
– Deadline for entry is Feb. 12 at 1:30 pm.
– Must be an active RaceDayCT Insider subscriber to enter.
– We’ll award a RaceDayCT t-shirt and a $15 Buffalo Wild Wings gift card to the winner.

I like my chances for winning this having done a lot of homework. Including studying last years results in the 5 events. Looking at times, distances, finishing order, consistency during the week and factoring in those without any of that experience at New Smyrna. No casual picks this time, Pitkat is not getting a free pass this time around.
Group 1-60-a brutal tier but last year even after whining about motors Hirschman was fastest or near the fastest all 5 days and in every race.
Group 2-the toughest to pick……undecided…..win this tier and you are in great shape
Group 3-based on last years results it’s the 7ny and not even close
Group 4-JR Bertuccio and again not even close
Group 5-McCarthy or Buddy…….undecided.
