Saturday’s Winchester Open 100 at Monadnock Speedway will mark the curtain call for one of the truly unsung legends of Modified racing in New England.

Four-time Milton Cat Modified Racing Series champion Kirk Alexander will run the final event of his career in Saturday’s Open Modified event at Monadnock.

Alexander was a 33-time winner on the Milton Cat Modified Racing Series, winning championships in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2023. Over his career he also made 13 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour starts and 32 starts with the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series.

Tonight we talked with Kirk about the decision to retire and plenty more about his illustrious career in New England Modified racing.

“I’ve got grandkids that are going to be there,” Alexander said. “They’re six and seven. Some day if they want to get in behind the wheel, I’d like to be part of that. … I’m just so excited they’re going to be there.”

  1. I would run a $1 pool on the MRS shows I went to with a bunch or people in the grandstands during Kirk Alexanders run. It was a dollar on each driver winner get the pot. Well after several races of kirk winning and no one playing unless they got Kirk, it went to a dollar for every driver and 2 for Kirk Alexander, Then we went to no one can take Kirk alexander and we paid out to whoever finished second when and if Kirk won. He was quite dominant for several years on the MRS. Those were some good races at Monadnock, Star Lee Canaan and Claremont.

  2. Going out on his terms. Good luck to Kirk with whatever comes next

  3. A class act.
Enjoy the extra time off and your family!
