Rain Forces Cancellation Of Racing At Stafford Motor Speedway

With rain in the forecast for most of the day and evening, Stafford Motor Speedway officials were forced to cancel tonight’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing card at the track.

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Track Walk scheduled for Friday has now been rescheduled for Sept. 1.

It was the sixth rainout of the season at Stafford.

The track returns to action with the Back To Skool Blitz program next Friday.

Geez, Mother Nature has been relentless on Fridays!!

  2. Sharpie Fan says

I think it’s all a conspiracy by the Weathermen Against Racing Network!

  3. If I remember correctly, Thompson experienced the same thing when they were running a full schedule.

    There making this crap !

  5. They easily could have had it didn’t even rain. There jumping the gun way to early on cancelling.

  6. Mike,
It rained on and off in the Stafford area from late afternoon until midnight. They were not going to get a racing card in last night at Stafford.

  7. Man Mike you are a die hard. It was a horrendous forecast and it did rain for sure. It’s misery for the teams waiting through delays, track drying and all to empty stands. Good call Stafford. Cancel before the cars are even loaded up, the beer kegs are hooked up and save everyone the effort.

  8. ModFan Homtracks says

That’s true. I live 3 miles from the track and it started a light constant rain at 6:45 and it continued into the night. We would have never got it in. It never poured, but it was bad enough. See you next week.

  9. Bummer that there was another rain out. Just wanted to point something out, though. Having a driver do the speedway snapchat is a fun way to let the fans get an inside look of a driver’s prep for the race, but I think the driver should be advised to stay away from politics. I doubt the track wants to open that can of worms.
