Road Trip: Noah Korner Ready To Chase Legends World Championship In Finland

When it comes to driving a Legends car, Noah Korner has been a traveling man in 2017.

Since the start of the racing season the Canton driver has run more than 15 different tracks around the country chasing points for the INEX Legends Series.

But this weekend that traveling chasing wins takes on a whole new level for Korner.

Korner is going international, competing at this weekends Legends World Finals at Botniaring Raceway in Finland.

“This is one of the coolest things I have ever done because not everyone gets the opportunity to go overseas and compete against the greatest competition in the world,” Korner said. “Words cannot described how pumped I am for this event. This year we have raced all over the United States … and now I get to compare my skills against the worlds fastest road racers.”

Botniaring is a 1.63-mile road course.

“I cannot imagine I would be racing in Finland,” Korner said. “It feels like it was just yesterday that I ran my first laps at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.”

Korner currently leads the INEX Pro Asphalt points and sits fifth in the Pro Road Course world rankings.

“This year the goals were the same as last, go as hard as we could and play see where it puts us at the end of the year,” Korner said. “It’s that same strategy I plan to go into this weekend with. … For this weekends event I have been asking around about this track, but the best way to prepare is going on the track and learn all it’s quirks.”

Korner isn’t the only driver representing the the Nutmeg State in Finland this weekend. Teddy Hodgon of Danbury is also competing in the event.

It has a motor in it. 500lite
Hey any advice I’m racing at Thompson tonight

  2. How does all the logistics of shipping a race car over for a trip like this work. I would imagine its expensive.

  3. Racer 28,
Noah Korner is actually renting a car that was prepared overseas specifically for the event. I’m fairly certain Hodgon is doing the same thing.

  4. Shawn thanks for the update. I couldn’t imagine shipping a car and equipment over there. Great opportunity for him. Hope he wins it all.
