Johnny Walker closed out his second consecutive championship winning season in the DARE Stock division at Stafford Motor Speedway with a bang on Saturday at the NAPA Fall Final.
Walker, of Ludlow, Mass., won the season ending 15-lap event for the division Saturday to celebrate a championship he had clinched before the start of the race.
It was the eighth victory in 17 starts this year for Walker.
And on Wednesday Walker collected more spoils for the victory.
Walker was voted this week’s New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week.
Walker collected 115 of 232 votes cast (49.6 percent) this week.
Marcello Rufrano of North Haven, the winner of the SK Light Modified feature Saturday at Stafford, was second in the voting with 65 votes (28 percent).

I saw Walker pulling guys out of three so often I thought for sure it was suspect and said so in a comment. He and his crew chief said no way, it was attention to detail and experience. The motor was pulled dyno’d and sure enough it was pure as the driven snow. Count me as a fan that hope he’s back next year.
